Azuay occurs as province of Ecuador, created 25 June 1824. It encompasses an locality of Vii.700 km². Its capital is Cuenca. These are in the south center of Ecuador in the upland. Its mountains email a 4500m above sea level in the national park of El Cajas.

Azuay is placed on the Panamerican Highway. Cuenca is attached by national flights from either Quito and Guayaquil. It sports a big hydroelectric plant of the country, placed on the flow of any stream Paute.
